Pointe de Lapaz
Pointe de Lapaz
This loop begins with a bus ride from the chalet in Argentière to Lac à l’Anglais, where we will start our hike with a steady climb to the Refuge Bellachat, perched on the ridgeline with views of Mont Blanc.
From there, we will continue the ascent to Pointe de Lapaz, a summit with sweeping panoramas in all directions. The descent loops around the front side of the mountain, gradually bringing us back down into the Chamonix valley where we will take the bus back to the chalet in Argentière.
The full route covers roughly 11 miles with 4,600 feet of elevation gain. Expect a mix of shaded forest trails and exposed alpine ridges so come prepared with water, sun protection, and snacks.
For a shorter option, hikers can head down directly from Refuge Bellachat back to Lac à l’Anglais via Parc de Merlet, a gentler route that still offers beautiful views.
