Tête sur les Lacs
Tête sur les Lacs
This alpine loop starts right from our chalet in Argentière, climbing steadily through forested switchbacks and open meadows toward the Refuge du Lac Blanc, a perfect spot to rest and enjoy a snack by the lake.
For those craving extra adrenaline, an out-and-back leads to the summit of the Aiguille du Belvédère, a rugged scramble with panoramas in every direction.
The main route continues with a short out-and-back to Tête sur les Lacs, a scenic high point, before looping down past the Lacs de Cheserys and descending gently back into the valley. Expect about 9 miles with 4,200 feet of elevation gain. This is a big day with technical sections and dramatic scenery, so bring layers and plenty of fuel.
